Powerful winter gusts brought walls down upon flimsy tents housing Palestinians displaced by war in Gaza, claiming the lives of no fewer than four individuals. This tragedy underscores the perilous situation that persist after more than two years of intense airstrikes and critical lack of humanitarian assistance.

Ceasefire Offers Little Relief from Severe Weather

While a truce has been active since October, aid groups report that Palestinians do not have the adequate shelter required to withstand recurring winter storms.

Medical staff at Gaza City's largest medical facility, which received the victims, said on this week that the dead include a pair of adult females, a girl, and a male adult.

In a separate incident, the Gaza health ministry stated on Tuesday that a 12-month-old infant died of extreme cold during the night.

"The world has enabled us to experience death in all its forms," stated Bassel Hamouda after the burial. "It’s true the shelling may have temporarily stopped, but we have witnessed all imaginable reasons of fatality in the world in the Gaza Strip."

Relatives Crushed in Tent Collapse

As per the medical center, three members of a one household — elderly a man, his teenage granddaughter, and his daughter-in-law — were killed when an 26-foot high wall collapsed on top of their tent in a area near the sea of Gaza City. At least 5 others were injured in the event.

Another Cold Season of Hardship
