US performer Pat Finn, who featured in iconic TV shows like Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has died aged 60.
The comedic improv actor died at home in Los Angeles on Monday having undergone treatment for cancer since 2022, as reported by reports.
"Pat never met a stranger - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his relatives stated in a message.
They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive Career on Screen
Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he played the brother of the main character.
He subsequently landed a repeating character on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, portraying a party host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous popular shows, like:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
He was most recognized for playing the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits encompass "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his television work, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was part of a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.
"He coached, befriended and mentored many learners over the years and it's nearly impossible to find anyone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, colleague and actor Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted publicly.
The actor is remembered by his partner Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
